Normally this article provides a detailed assessment and description of the previous nights game by the Championship team know around the world as the 'OverTouchers'. However, a dramatic turn of events had ensured this article take a different turn today. We have all heard of a players second year syndrome but  last weeks Man of the match, Rami, has broken new ground with 2nd game syndrome. All good corporations have road maps for succession plans and the Toucher's are no different. With the average age of the mighty team getting higher with each day, the sub committee for Growth and Development approved the signing of a new Toucher, RAMI late on Thursday afternoon. As I sat last night in the back yard on the brisk spring evening, I began the next chapter of this critically acclaimed column. The filling moon drew light across the keyboard as the drifting nor east wind bristled the hair on my heaving chest.  A chilled Sauvignon Blanc sat nicely at my side. So when taken to task for not publishing an article in Week 1 of the Belrose Touch Football Championship, I want you all to look in the mirror an ask 'yourself' why. Ask yourself why did this long suffering scribe did not deliver prose on the efforts our multi championship winning team after the first game of this spring summer series. It was around September that I sat in close quarters with the Chairman as we plotted the playing list for the 2016 Touchers. The roster was at 16 on that cool spring day. We thought then it was too many. We deliberated over player skill on and off the paddock. Not that anyone was in true danger of losing their accreditation as a Toucher. As our creed stands as 'Once an OverToucher, always and OverToucher'. The decision had been made minutes after the completion of the 2015 season that shall not be mentioned, that we would return to the fields of glory and bring down the wrath of redemption after 3 years in the wilderness. If I think hard, I believe that over the years there have been about 30 Toucher's in our squad. To name them all would be superfluous to the needs of this little story, plus how can I remember them all after 7 years.
