Is this the end? Will there be no more Touching?

After 5 years of concerted Touching the men from the Hills may be calling it a day. Word from inside sources is that the men are starting to look for new challenges. After losing 7-5 in a tight fought game in their 5th grand final in a row Tuesday night, two of the Touchers stalwarts stood side by side at the presentation asking each other what the emotion was that they felt about going around again next season. At the time the word didn't come to mind but now after a couple of days reflection I feel that word is enthusiasm. The Touchers do not lack commitment nor competitiveness, that is clearly evident in the manner in which they played Tuesday night. With almost a full squad there on the night, the was no lack of wanting to get the job done.  Please note that I do caveat all comment made here in stating that is only a C Grade Touch Footy competition we are talking about. However, even at this level the team showed character elements they should all ...

C Mc gives her account

Guest writer, C Mc, daughter of Supercoach, sister to son of Supercoach gave her account of the Touchers loss last night 8-6 in this report ----------- Tonight on the 10/2/15 the boys put in 110% tonight. Down 3 tries to at half time! Rookie Declan helped with some great fielding and fantastic passes, as well as Bernie who had a sore knee still tried his hardest. As this was written or started at halftime I came up with the idea of writing my own story inspired by FMJ. Yelling and running as that was the game tonight with a few tries and a few penalties along the way. Touch footy is a game for everyone, no matter how tall or how small, how fast or how slow touch footy is for everyone and all of you should be proud for giving it a go! As tonight we had on the field and beside the field of play we had a total of 8 Overtouchers". ------------ A clear an...

"Soft Launch " Chairman

Post match interviews with the Chairman saw him quote last nights first game back after the Holiday break as a 'Soft launch'. With many Touchers on assignment and not able to make the opening game of the second half of the competition; the VC counted off just 7 players that were there to take the field and Touch. Looking down the touchline there didn't see many numbers there in the opponents line up. A collective sigh arose from the 7 Touchers. The opposition scrounged up some ring ins and it wasn't clear if they called a no match, so with confusion across the park, the VC called in the troops and screamed that we go for the throat. It seems that the Rookie, Supercoach and  BBB were listening. Chairman, Locksmith and I were off to the side discussing other things, like the plight of the 3rd world and their debt crisis. With the opposition pushing a little harder than a team looking to to just throw the ball around, the Rookie chose this balmy night to demonstrat...
